On October 17, Vitebsk /Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. A resident of Polotsk narrowly escaped death in the shaft of a future well at his dacha in Ushachi District, the press secretary of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Marina Fando, told a BELTA correspondent.
The man, born in 1962, was buried by soil at the bottom of a well under construction at a depth of 10 m. Responding to the alarm signal, employees of the Ushachi District Department for Emergency Situations pulled the victim to the surface using rescue equipment. The dacha owner was hospitalised with a diagnosis of "crush syndrome" and "general hypothermia" at the Novopolotsk Central City Hospital; his condition is assessed as satisfactory.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 15 at the victim's dacha plot in the village of Tetch, where colleagues from a construction company in Novopolotsk were helping him to build the well. -0-
