The enterprise commenced production of the product at the end of August, and the first international presentation of the novelty took place within the framework of the Vitebsk Region Days in Pskov. The event is held from September 2 to 4 in the Russian regional centre. "Polotsk-Steklovolokno has been operating in the Russian market for a long time, and we have plans to expand our presence. This includes promoting this product, which is innovative not only for the enterprise but also for Belarus as a whole. During the exhibition in Pskov, representatives of local enterprises showed increased interest in the composite mesh at our exhibition, so I hope we will find our niche with this product in the neighbouring region and in the Russian market as a whole," said Andrey Shevyakov, Head of the Marketing Department of the enterprise.
The composite mesh is produced from fibreglass and epoxy impregnation by interlacing twisted threads with fibreglass rods (with diameters ranging from 2 to 6 mm), followed by heat treatment. The new line allows for the production of mesh in sheets, as well as in rolls of various lengths and specific widths, with the cell size and mesh colour being customizable upon customer request.
Open Joint Stock Company "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" was established in 1958 and is one of the leading manufacturers of fibreglass and products based on it. The enterprise boasts approximately 900 product items, which are supplied to partners from 50 countries. The manufactured glass yarns and rovings are used by the company for its own production, as well as sold to customers for the manufacturing of woven and non-woven materials for mechanical engineering, automotive, aviation, shipbuilding, electrical engineering, metallurgy, the military-industrial complex, construction, and a number of other industries.
