The operating procedure for tourist information centres in Belarus is planned to be regulated in 2015. "The current norms enshrined in legislation are insufficient to regulate these economic entities in any way. Most likely, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism will approve regulations on tourist centres," explained Alexander Krechetov.
In 2015, it is planned to introduce amendments and additions to the law "On Tourism". As part of this work, the issue of introducing a register of tourist activities will be considered. "This is not a substitute for licensing. The register will allow for the creation of a database of economic entities engaged in tourist activities," clarified the representative of the department.
Amendments to the law also provide for the introduction of administrative liability for violations of legislation in the field of tourism. In addition, it is planned to bring terminology into line with the glossary of the World Tourism Organization and to consider the issue of the possible introduction of mandatory service certification.
