As part of the nationwide republican campaign "Let's Restore the Forests Together" ("Адновiм лясы разам"), employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, led by the Head of the Department, Ivan Petrovich Maskalkov, have, in accordance with a good tradition, assisted the forestry in tree planting.

The main goal of the event is to draw the attention of the public and public organisations to the conservation and enhancement of forests as a national treasure. The campaign is designed to foster a careful attitude towards nature. It allows for a better understanding of how new forests are created and what is needed to keep them clean and healthy.

The Lepel rescuers gladly joined this noble cause. Young fir and birch trees have appeared on an area of over five hectares thanks to the efforts of the firefighters.

It is symbolic that the campaign this year coincided with the celebration of Father's Day. Folk wisdom states that a true man should do three things in his life: build a house, plant a tree, and raise a son. The "Let's Restore the Forests Together" campaign provides an opportunity for every Belarusian to fulfil at least one of their duties: to care for nature!

At the end of the summer, the forest fund of the Lepel district suffered significantly from a hurricane, which is why the importance of this greening campaign increases manifold. Forests are called green gold. It is difficult to disagree with this statement, as forest plantations help us maintain clean air and increase natural abundance," shared Head of Department Ivan Maskalkov.
