Following an inspection by the Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control, the staff of a shop in the Dubrovno district was dismissed due to gross violations, the control authority told BELTA correspondent. The "Mirt" shop in the village of Osintorf was among the trade facilities of the consumer cooperative system in the Dubrovno district that were inspected. When inspectors arrived at the shop, some display cases in the sales area were empty, and aisles were cluttered with boxes of goods. Refrigerated display cases were in an unsanitary condition. Most of the meat semi-finished products (24 items worth Br830 thousand) had expired for up to 198 days, and some of them lacked price tags. Bread, milk, low-fat sour cream, glazed curd snacks, and ryazhenka were not available for sale. At the same time, some of these goods were found in the shop's utility room. The utility room was also in an unsatisfactory condition – aisles were cluttered with empty packaging and rubbish, and there was no lighting. The state annually provides support to enterprises of the consumer cooperative system aimed at ensuring the stable and dynamic development of the trade sector and forming a reliable system for supplying rural residents with a wide range of goods. However, as the inspection results showed, violations in the consumer cooperative trade sector of the region are still widespread. Neither the district executive committees nor the regional consumer union have taken exhaustive measures to fundamentally resolve this problem, the State Control Committee believes. For example, in four shops of the Dubrovno district consumer union inspected in November last year, the sale of 64 items worth Br2.3 million with expired shelf lives of up to six months was prohibited; in two shops, sanitary norms and rules were not observed; in one shop, the assortment list was not maintained, and some items lacked price tags. Based on the inspection results, nine individuals were brought to administrative responsibility by the State Control Committee. Information on the identified violations was sent to the Dubrovno District Executive Committee and the Dubrovno District Consumer Union. Nineteen people were disciplined, and the staff of the "Mirt" shop was dismissed. According to the statement by the Deputy Chairman of the Dubrovno District Executive Committee at the final meeting of the board of the regional executive committee's trade department, the unfavorable situation with the staff at the "Mirt" shop was known before the inspection, but no specific measures were taken to rectify the situation. -0-
