On September 8, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. JSC "Postavy Dairy Plant" will complete the first stage of the construction of treatment facilities by December 1, 2011, the chief engineer of the enterprise, Georgy Katen, informed a BELTA correspondent.
The construction of new treatment facilities, divided into two stages, began at the plant in August last year. The first start-up complex includes the construction of treatment facilities, an access road, a sewage pumping station, power supply to the treatment facilities, and the laying of pressure pipelines for treated wastewater. The cost of this complex is almost Br8 billion.
Currently, the general contractor "Rassvet Postavsky" is carrying out the installation of concrete slabs for reservoirs and the replacement of the existing sewage collector.
The second start-up complex, with an investment volume of Br3.5 billion, includes the construction of pressure pipelines for treated wastewater from the tie-in point to the existing biological ponds of the plant. The complete commissioning of the works is planned for 2012.
The implementation of the project will solve the issue of effective treatment of specific wastewater and improve the environmental situation in Postavy. The design capacity of the treatment facilities is 450 cubic meters per day with discharge to existing biological ponds, and then into the Myadelka River. The facility is included in the regional measures for the rational use of natural resources and environmental protection of the Vitebsk region for 2011-2015.
The enterprise specializes in the production of cheeses, whole milk products, casein, and also produces ice cream and mayonnaise – more than 40 types of products in total. The whole milk product group includes over 20 types. For January-August of the current year, the plant produced products worth Br59.7 billion, which amounted to 143.5% compared to the corresponding level of 2010. The share of exports in revenue from sales was 40%. Export deliveries increased by 16.3% compared to the same period last year, to $6.9 million. The sales profitability for January-July was 4.9%.
