Postavy will become the centre of the Olympic movement today, as reported to BELTA correspondent by Vasily Zakharevich, Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Postavy District Executive Committee. Under the auspices of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, with the support of the Ministries of Education, Sports and Tourism, and the participation of the Belarusian Olympic Academy, the Republican Centre for Physical Education and Sports of Pupils and Students, the republican event "Olympism and Youth" will be held in Postavy. The event will be opened by a seminar on "Olympic Sport and Sport for All". It will be attended by specialists and methodologists from departments of education, physical culture, sports and tourism, coaches-instructors of specialised educational and sports institutions, pedagogical staff of educational institutions, and lecturers of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture. The event will take place at the Postavy Vocational-Technical College. A meeting of young students with champions and prize-winners of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships will also be held there. Various sports events are also organised on this day at other educational institutions in the city. For example, a "Mini Olympic Games" will be held for young children at the kindergarten. At Secondary School No. 1, students will participate in a sports relay race and a seminar dedicated to Olympic education. The city's Children and Youth Sports School will host a master class by leading Belarusian volleyball coaches and a match between the "Atlant-D" (Postavy) team and the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture team. The city's sports festival will conclude at the District House of Culture with a grand sports and theatrical performance, which will include performances by creative groups, demonstration performances by athletes, and presentations of the best works by students from the qualifying stages of the republican competition "Poster in the Spirit of Fair Play". -0-
