Admission to Suvorov military schools in Belarus has become more difficult, reports BELTA correspondent with reference to Decree of the President of Belarus No. 527 of 20 November, officially published today on the National Legal Internet Portal. The document provides for amendments and additions to the Regulations on Suvorov Military Schools, approved by Presidential Decree No. 614 of 30 December 2011. Previously, a candidate for a place at the school was not admitted to entrance examinations if they scored zero, one, or two points in the physical fitness test. Now, the threshold for non-admission is four points. As for academic subjects, a candidate who scores zero, one, or two points in the first test will not be admitted to subsequent examinations. "Retaking the physical fitness test and entrance examination is not permitted," the decree states. The main tasks of the Suvorov military school now include preparing cadets not only for admission to educational institutions that train personnel for military and sports specialities for the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of Belarus, as well as personnel for internal affairs bodies, bodies and units for emergency situations, but also for the Investigative Committee. The Suvorov military school is directly managed by its Head, who is appointed to and dismissed from office by the President of Belarus. Decree No. 527 enters into force after its official publication.-0-
