10 September, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The Vitebsk region has seen an increase in revenue from the gambling tax based on the results of January-July this year, the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent.
Revenue from the gambling tax over seven months has increased in actual prices by Br2.3 billion, or approximately 40%, compared to the same period last year. In total, over Br8 billion of this tax was received from economic entities into the consolidated budget of the region during this period, which accounts for 0.2% of the total revenue in the region. The share of the gambling tax remains at last year's level.
As noted by the regional inspectorate, nine economic entities engaged in the gambling business are registered in the territory. Of these, eight are registered with the district inspectorates of Vitebsk, and one more is registered in Novopolotsk. As of August 1, 2012, there were 964 gambling business facilities located in the Vitebsk region. -0-
