On July 24, at approximately 7 PM, the "101" service received a report of a car fire on Freedom Square in the town of Lepel.
Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers observed fire in the engine compartment of a passenger car.
As a result of the fire, the engine compartment, body paintwork, windscreen, and front wheels of a 2002 Feat Ulysse car were damaged.
An investigation is underway regarding this incident, and experts are yet to determine the cause. Statistics show that in similar cases, the most frequent cause of fires is faulty vehicle wiring, leading to a short circuit.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds vehicle owners of the importance of regularly diagnosing their vehicles at certified service stations and maintaining them in good working order.
