When rescuers arrived at the scene, the bathhouse roof was observed to be on fire.
As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, and walls of the bathhouse were damaged.
The cause of the fire is being established. The considered version of the cause of the fire is a violation of the rules for operating stoves, heat-generating units, and devices.
Once again, rescuers from the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations draw attention to the fact that in pursuit of hot steam, overheating of the stove must not be allowed. Also, common causes of fires in bathhouses are cracks in stoves and chimneys, so defects should be eliminated in a timely manner.
Wooden or other flammable objects should be kept at a distance from the hot parts of the stove and chimneys or be well insulated. Since soot and combustion products accumulate in ash pans and smoke passages, they must be cleaned regularly.
Before lighting the stove, be sure to check for draft. If there is no draft, warm up the chimney by burning a small amount of firewood. If the draft does not appear even after this, all smoke channels of the stove must be cleaned. Also, do not forget that the floor surface located directly in front of the stove's firebox door should be covered with a metal sheet measuring 50x70 cm or made of non-combustible materials, so that sparks and fallen coals do not cause a fire.
When leaving the bathhouse, do not forget to make sure that all the fuel has burned out.
