On April 13, the rescue service received a report of a bathhouse fire in the village of Susha, Bobrovsky Village Council, Lepel District.
When rescuers arrived at the scene of the fire, the bathhouse was observed to be open burning.
As a result of the fire, the bathhouse was completely destroyed.
The cause of the fire is being established. The considered version of the cause of the fire is careless handling of fire (when burning dry vegetation by the owner).
To prevent simple yard cleaning from turning into a tragedy, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds:
- burning of refuse is permitted only in calm weather;
- the place where you plan to burn collected refuse should be at a safe distance from outbuildings and other structures, as well as from forests and peat bogs;
- the fire pit must be dug around;
- stock up with a bucket of water, a shovel or a fire extinguisher and do not leave the fire unattended for a second;
- after finishing burning, pour water over the remaining embers until smouldering completely stops.
In Belarus, the burning of dry vegetation is prohibited by law. According to Article 16.40 of the Code of Administrative Offences, for illegal burning of dry vegetation, grass in its natural state, as well as stubble and post-harvest residues in fields, or failure to take measures to extinguish fires, guilty persons shall be brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine ranging from 10 to 30 basic units. In accordance with Article 16.41, setting fires in prohibited places provides for a fine of up to 12 basic units. In case of causing damage on a particularly large scale, criminal liability shall arise.
