On April 12, at 18:12, rescuers received a report of a shop fire in the village of Gubino, Lepel District.
On April 12, at 18:12, rescuers received a report of a shop fire in the village of Gubino, Lepel District.
Upon arrival at the scene, fire units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations observed open burning of a grocery store belonging to the Vitebsk Regional Consumer Cooperative Society Lepel Rypo. At the time of the fire, no one was inside the shop, and no one was injured.
The fire was extinguished by rescuers. As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, walls, and property (groceries) inside the warehouse and shop premises were damaged. A wood shed was destroyed.
A check is being conducted regarding this incident. The cause of the fire is being established. The considered version of the cause of the fire is careless handling of fire while making a campfire.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds:
- Special devices should be used for cooking, and campfires should be made under the condition of continuous monitoring of the burning and smouldering process;
- Places for making campfires must be cleared of combustible substances and materials, dry vegetation, and equipped with extinguishing agents;
- The burning and smouldering process must be carried out in such a way that flames and sparks do not fall on combustible elements of buildings, outbuildings and structures, or on stored combustible substances and materials;
- Upon completion of the burning process, the remains of burning (smouldering) materials must be extinguished until smouldering completely stops;
- The use of flammable and combustible liquids (except for liquids specifically designed for ignition) to ignite campfires and coals is PROHIBITED.
We draw the attention of citizens that for violating these fire safety rules, administrative liability from 10 to 30 basic units is provided.
