On April 1st at 12:42, the rescue service received a report of a shed fire on Volodarskogo Street in the town of Lepel.
Upon arrival at the scene, open combustion of the shed was observed.
As a result of the fire, the shed’s roof was partially destroyed, and the walls and property were smoke-damaged.
The cause of the fire is being established. The considered versions for the cause of the fire are careless handling of fire when burning rubbish.
To ensure that simple yard cleaning does not turn into a tragedy, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds:
- burning rubbish is permitted only in calm weather;
- the place where you plan to burn collected rubbish must be at a safe distance from outbuildings and other structures, as well as from forest areas and peat bogs;
- the fire pit must be dug around;
- stock up with a bucket of water, a shovel or a fire extinguisher, and do not leave the fire unattended for even a second;
- after finishing burning, douse the remaining embers with water until smouldering completely ceases.
We draw the attention of citizens that administrative liability from 10 to 30 basic units is provided for violation of these fire safety rules.
