On April 16, around 6 p.m., a report was received about a fire in a bathhouse in the village of Svyaditsa, Lepel district.

On April 16, around 6 p.m. a report was received about a fire in a bathhouse in the village of Svyaditsa, Lepel district.

Upon arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) units at the scene, open burning of the wooden bathhouse was observed. The owner, born in 1968, was outside. There were no casualties.

As a result of the fire, the roof and ceiling of the bathhouse were destroyed, and the walls were damaged.

A check is being conducted regarding this fire incident, and the cause is being determined. The considered version of the cause of the fire is a violation of the rules for operating stoves, heat-generating units, and devices.

The MES urges owners of private households with outbuildings on their plots, including bathhouses: do not operate heating devices in violation of fire safety rules, ensure their repair and timely cleaning of chimneys from combustion products to protect yourselves and your property.

For failure to comply with fire safety rules, citizens may be brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 23.56 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus, which entails a warning or a fine of up to thirty basic units.
