During joint preventive work to prevent fires and deaths from them in the housing stock in the Vitebsk region, as well as with the aim of strengthening law and order, preventing offences committed by citizens in a state of alcohol intoxication, and increasing the fire safety level of the housing stock of citizens leading an antisocial lifestyle, Lepel rescuers and employees of the district internal affairs department daily, as part of operational groups, visit the households of categorised citizens from April 2 to April 30.
Within the framework of this work, the population is informed about the state of life safety, the consequences of non-compliance with fire safety rules, leaving children unattended, and alcohol abuse are explained. Special attention is paid to the serviceability of stove heating, electrical equipment, and autonomous fire alarms, and compliance with fire safety rules when burning waste on household plots. Attention is drawn to local executive and administrative bodies and other interested prevention entities on the need for regular and targeted work to ensure life safety in the relevant territory, including increasing the level of fire protection of the housing stock.
