As part of a large-scale information campaign aimed at raising public awareness about the effectiveness of using autonomous fire alarms, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations continue to conduct explanatory work among the population.
For instance, in the village of Borovka, rescuers organized an information and educational "Safety Post" where they conducted explanatory work with shoppers, teaching them how to prevent fires in their homes and protect their health, lives, and property from fire.The Ministry of Emergency Situations employees paid special attention to the installation of autonomous fire alarms, explaining how this simple and affordable device can save lives and property.
– The main function of the alarm is to detect smoke at an early stage of ignition and emit a loud audible signal. This gives you precious time to wake up, assess the situation, and take necessary measures: evacuate, call the rescue service, or attempt to extinguish the fire if it is safe to do so, – explained representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
When visiting households, rescuers paid close attention to the condition of heating equipment, the presence and operability of autonomous fire alarms, the condition of electrical wiring, and the general order within the dwelling and on the adjacent territory.
– It does not take much effort to protect your home from fire, – emphasized representatives of the rescue service, – the main thing is not to smoke in bed, especially when intoxicated, to exercise caution when using fire and tidying up garden plots by burning rubbish. When leaving home, disconnect electrical appliances from the mains and be sure to install autonomous fire alarms.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations handed out preventive leaflets and recommendations for rectifying identified violations to each citizen.
