23 June, Brest /Alina Grishkevich - BELTA/. Pyotr Prokopovich will not return to the National Bank but will be involved in the interests of the state after undergoing medical rehabilitation. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced this to journalists today, answering their questions regarding the recent appointment of Yuri Alymov as acting Chairman of the National Bank's Board, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "Pyotr Prokopovich will not return to the National Bank anymore; I want him to live," the head of state said. "He is a person most devoted to his country, honest and decent." At the same time, the President noted: "He made mistakes, and the government did, and I must see this." "He is a person devoted to our Fatherland. But it would have been hard to imagine that after undergoing open-heart surgery, he would literally go to work the next day," Alexander Lukashenko continued. "Therefore, we agreed with him: he will be fully involved in the country's affairs after undergoing medical rehabilitation."-0-
