However, the people of Lepel were among the best. In almost a month of working in the fields, lyceum students harvested 93.5 tons of flax straw and dug 241 tons of potatoes, while college students harvested 370 tons of straw and dug 320 tons of potatoes. Their work can also be considered as practical training, during which young people become more familiar with their chosen professions.
The regional trade union organization of agricultural workers held a competition in two groups: vocational lyceums and colleges, as well as higher and secondary vocational educational institutions.
In the first group, students of the Lepel State Vocational Lyceum took second place. In the second group, students of the Lepel Agrarian-Technical College took first place.
By decision of the regional organization of the trade union of agricultural workers, the trade union organizations of the state vocational lyceum and the agrarian-technical college were awarded diplomas and cash prizes in the amount of seven million rubles for first place and six million rubles for second place. The college trade union committee purchased a laptop and equipment for the assembly hall with the prize money, and the lyceum trade union committee purchased a video camera and a radio microphone.
