Rules for safe behaviour on water
It is common knowledge that the best way to relax is by the water. Many people enjoy spending time on the shore: playing sports, fishing, boating, and riding jet skis.
However, water can bring not only pleasure but also tragic consequences. With the start of the swimming season, the number of people relaxing by reservoirs sharply increases, and unfortunately, so does the number of accidents – even in places that seem safest at first glance.
To ensure that your time by the water does not turn into a tragedy, it is essential to observe the basic safety rules:
1. Swim only in designated areas, at well-equipped beaches with rescue stations.
2. Do not dive in unfamiliar places – submerged logs, stones, snags, and other dangerous objects may be at the bottom.
3. Never leave children unattended, even in shallow water.
4. Do not play dangerous games in the water, such as grabbing arms or legs.
5. While swimming, do not swim beyond the marked buoys and do not approach boats and vessels.
6. Do not consume alcoholic beverages when near water, and especially while swimming.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
