Most often, at the base of their stem, there is a sac-like formation, and small scales are visible on the upper part of the cap. Their smell is comparable to that of radishes or potatoes. And one more important clarification: all poisonous species have a lamellar structure – under the cap, the lamellae diverge like a fan towards the stem. Sometimes, ordinary mushrooms that have been improperly processed can also pose a danger to humans. This process also needs to be taken seriously. Firstly, this product does not tolerate long storage. It is best to process them immediately after collection. If this is not possible, place the mushrooms in the refrigerator, cellar, another cool place, or cover them with cold salted water. But remember that you only have 2-3 hours. Secondly, do not salt or pickle mushrooms in galvanised or aluminium cookware. You should not seal mushrooms with metal lids, as the causative agents of botulism (a severe disease with a high percentage of fatal outcomes), which get onto the fruits from the soil, develop well in hermetically sealed jars. The best option is to cover the container with dense paper and store it in a cool place. And also, under no circumstances eat raw mushrooms, as this can lead to undesirable consequences. Caution is also needed when collecting mushrooms. Do not pick specimens, even edible ones, growing near industrial enterprises, landfills, fields treated with chemicals, railway tracks, and roads. Do not collect the first harvest after prolonged hot days and lack of precipitation in your basket. Do not risk with overripe mushrooms either, as they can also harm your health. A mushroom found near a death cap, especially an old one, can also be unsafe. The reason for this is the spores, which can get onto an ordinary mushroom and lead to poisoning after consumption.
