Rules for cross-border e-commerce in the EAEU remain unchanged for now, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) informed BelTA.

At a meeting in Moscow, members of the EEC Council considered the issue of unifying the cost and weight limits for duty-free import of goods for personal use sent in international postal items and delivered by a carrier. As a result, it was decided to maintain the currently applicable norms established at the national level in the member states of the Union until the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) enters into force.

A draft order of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIC) "On the Development of the Concept for the Establishment of the Eurasian Engineering Centre for Machine Tool Construction" was approved. In accordance with the document, the governments of the EAEU countries, together with the EEC, are instructed to develop a draft concept for the establishment of the Eurasian Engineering Centre for Machine Tool Construction (EIC) and submit it for consideration at the next meeting of the EIC.

The EEC press service noted that the EIC is viewed as a structure that will unite the scientific and technical potential of the EAEU countries in machine tool construction. The establishment of the centre will expand the development opportunities for enterprises in the sector in the EAEU countries and deepen industrial and scientific-technical cooperation. The structure will contribute to the modernisation of industrial production through the use of innovative machine tool equipment manufactured within the EAEU. The draft concept for the establishment of the EIC will define the form, structure, goals, objectives, and funding sources for the centre's activities.

One of the main agenda items of the meeting was the preparation of draft protocols on the terms of Kyrgyzstan's accession to the EAEU.

The meeting also approved an order appointing Vasily Matyushevsky, a member of the Council from Belarus, as Chairman of the EEC Council for 2015.
