The Regulation on the conscription of citizens for active military service and service in the reserve has been approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 4 November 2019 No. 741, the government's press service informed a BELTA correspondent.
The conscription is planned after the issuance of the relevant Decree of the President. Heads of regional and Minsk city executive committees, together with military commissars, shall develop conscription plans in the regions and Minsk based on the Decree. District (city) conscription commissions shall be established.
Citizens are notified of the need to appear for conscription events through personal summonses from the military commissariat, which specify the dates of appearance.
Summonses shall be served to citizens against signature by organizations engaged in the operation of housing stock and (or) providing housing and utility services, local executive and administrative bodies where primary individual records of conscripts are kept, and educational institutions. Such summonses may be served to citizens at their place of work.
Citizens are obliged to appear upon summons for conscription events, as well as for mandatory state dactyloscopic registration. Those who fail to appear within the established deadlines for conscription events for valid reasons shall be assigned another date of appearance. The reasons for non-appearance must be confirmed by documents from the relevant state bodies and organizations.
The Regulation also specifies cases where deferment from conscription is granted.
The Resolution shall enter into force after its official publication.
