The XIV Regional Humor Festival "It's Not a Sin to Laugh" will be held on April 1st in the urban-type settlement of Shumilino, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the Vitebsk Regional Methodical Center of Folk Art.
The cheerful festival-competition is held every two years, and this time its theme will be a healthy lifestyle. Spectators will see humorous performances by 17 theater miniature groups from the region holding the title "People's" - most of them are experienced contestants, but there are also debutants. "The audience will have an excellent opportunity to heartily laugh at bad habits and their carriers. Laughter, as they say, is the best medicine. And we hope it will restore many people's desire to take care of their own health," noted the Center of Folk Art.
The genre diversity of the miniatures submitted by the participants is also striking: there is a Twitter action, a musical sketch, monologues, author's fables, and a clown show, even a fitness club session.
Before the start of the competition program, performances by 18 auto clubs from the region will take place in the foyer of the Shumilino District Culture Center, after which the event will move to the main hall. In addition, agro-towns of Shumilino District will be involved in the festival. Performances by some theater groups will be held on the stage of the Obol City House of Culture and in the agro-town of Nikitikha. The program "We Came to You for an Hour" and Robin Howdon's play "A Chic Wedding" will be shown here.
