The "Zaozerskaya Berezukha" folk art festival will bring together residents of Polotsk District, as reported to BelTA by the press service of the Polotsk District Executive Committee.
The event, symbolized by the beautiful birch tree, will take place on June 23 in the agro-town of Zaozerye. Guests will be welcomed by Mr. Kazimir. During the theatrical opening of the festival, he will share legends of the agro-town and treat everyone to birch sap. Afterwards, "Zaozerye McDonald's" will open its doors to all visitors, featuring an exhibition-tasting of appetizing village baked goods, and the "Zaozersky Fish-Lite" food court, where one can sample fish soup and fried eggs cooked on burning birch logs. The filming of the fifth episode of the TV project "Hospitable Polochchyna" will also take place here, revealing recipes for making birch kvass. Diligent housewives will also have the opportunity to act as experts in the "Birch Mix" tasting competition, organized in the format of the "Control Purchase" program.
Amateur athletes are invited by the organizers to the "Village Fitness Ground," where they will be offered an ethnic warm-up in folk style (with a shovel, rake, hoe), participation in a birch broom battle, a test of strength in team summer curling with bath basins, walking on birch stilts, and tournaments in "Birch Checkers" and "Birch Gorodki."
For art lovers, a meeting with beauty awaits – the musical "Birch Rhapsody," a concert by the folk ensemble "Bela Chaika," the street gallery of reproductions of Russian artists "Berezhenka-Podruzhka," and an exhibition of wooden crafts by students of the local school. Children will not be overlooked either. They will enjoy the "Folk Amusements" round dance show with authentic folk games, the "Chasing Summer" game program, and horse riding. A good reminder of the fun festival in Zaozerye will be the "Birch Miracle" express selfie and birch bark decorations made by hand with the help of folk craftsmen.
