The festival program is very rich and offers guests and participants a whole list of activities from 12:00 to 20:00. One of the key events will be a kite-flying contest, in which everyone can participate. A summer market, a free market, and short film screenings will also be organized. Children will have a whole entertainment zone with master classes and games.
The festival promises many unforgettable encounters for fans of music, poetry, as well as all curious adults and children. In particular, Andrey Khodonovich, Ales Sneg, and Daria Belkevich will present their poetry performances to the public; the bands "UZHE", The bright Insight, and others will give musical greetings. The "Science Beyond Itself" project will this time go beyond the hall of the regional scientific and technical library and invite Artem Bystrik, an employee of the energy program of the Center for Environmental Solutions, as the next speaker. In his lecture "Wind Energy in Belarus," he will explain in an accessible way the natural resources for wind energy use in Belarus, list where the most powerful wind turbines are installed, and consider examples and possibilities of using wind energy in private households. And as a bonus, physicist, singer-songwriter, and linguist Timofey Avilin will give a lecture on ethnoastronomy (according to one of the definitions, the science that studies the material and spiritual objects of a people related to celestial bodies).
The "Wind Festival" is a long-standing tradition of the city. It was not held for some time, but thanks to the implementation of the "Tvorchy chatvyert" and "Kirmaš praektav" projects, the initiative to revive the festival found support from the local authorities. The event is organized with the support of the Department of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the public and cultural campaign "Budzma беларусамі" and the City Center for Culture.
