14 June, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The measures taken by the Government of Belarus to protect the consumer market from the unjustified export of goods are yielding results. This was the opinion expressed to a BELTA correspondent by the Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus, Alexander Yakobson. The head of the control authority was on a working trip to the Vitebsk region, where he met with workers of OJSC "Vitebskdrev". The measures to protect the consumer market proposed by the Council of Ministers' Resolution No. 755 were developed based on forecasts and consultations. The State Control Committee also participated in this work. Alexander Yakobson is convinced that the steps taken are yielding results. "The situation with the product range is evening out," he stated, adding that during meetings with work collectives, people no longer ask questions about the saturation of the market with certain goods. "Today, there is only one question: the mismatch between wages and the prices of goods on the shelves. We acknowledge and understand this," he said. Enterprises have the opportunity to increase wages. "Reducing production costs and increasing export supplies are the key to successful work and the basis for wage growth," the Chairman of the State Control Committee is convinced. -0-
