Representatives of ten Ukrainian enterprises, as well as heads of six regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs are taking part in the Business Council of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus and Ukraine, which is being held today in Vitebsk. This was announced to journalists by the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergey Skripchenko, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. According to the head of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the main topic of dialogue between the businesses of the two countries is the strengthening of contacts and cooperation, and the increase of business activity, which is ultimately aimed at increasing trade turnover between the countries. Ukrainian business is showing increased attention to the development of cooperation with Belarusian enterprises, as evidenced, in particular, by the representative Ukrainian delegation at the Business Council in Vitebsk. The delegation includes heads of enterprises in the agro-industrial and construction sectors, mechanical engineering, and the hotel and leisure industry. As noted by the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vasily Romanov, the most pressing issue for the business circles of the two countries is the expansion of cooperation in all spheres of activity. The Business Council is designed to give another impetus to the development of business contacts between enterprises, which will allow for the activation of mutual relations and fuller use of the potential of Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation. "We have tried to present domestic agricultural machinery manufacturing, scientific organizations, and a number of other areas of activity at the forum, which could become promising for expanding interaction between the countries," emphasized Vasily Romanov. Following the forum, it is planned to develop a list of problematic issues existing in bilateral cooperation for their resolution at the intergovernmental level.
