The representative of Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be determined on the night of August 27 by TV viewers and a jury, BelTA reports.
The final show, in the format of a gala concert, will begin at 22:00 in the "600 meters" studio of the Belarusian Television and Radio Company. It will be broadcast live on the "Belarus 1" and "Belarus 24" TV channels, as well as online on the media holding's official website.
The official Belarusian representative at the children's contest will be determined based on the results of the professional jury and TV viewer voting. The opportunity to participate in telephone and SMS voting for each subscriber of the landline network and all mobile networks in the country will be provided by Beltelecom. The telephone numbers for voting will be announced to TV viewers by the hosts of the concert, Teo and Olga Ryzhikova. They will also be indicated by on-screen graphics during the broadcast. The duration of the telephone voting period will be 10 minutes.
Maria Magilnaya (Mogilev), the show group "So-Ni-Ka" (Vitebsk), Elena Titova (Mogilev), Yulia Mozhilovskaya (Minsk), Stefania Sokolova (Minsk), the group "Neskuchny Vozrast" (Minsk), Maria Zhilina (Minsk), Zinaida Kupriyanovich (Minsk), Olga Konovalova (Mogilev), and Alexander Minenok (Minsk) will compete for the right to represent the country at the international contest. Each finalist's performance will be preceded by video introductions.
The winner will represent the country at the prestigious contest on November 20 this year in Valletta, Malta. The organisation of the national selection and preparation for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is carried out by the Belarusian Television and Radio Company as the sole member of the European Broadcasting Union in Belarus.
