Members of the Board of the public association “Belarusian Union of Women” visited the State Unitary Enterprise DRAC “Zhemchuzhina” in Borovka. The children's rehabilitation and health resort centre is equipped with state-of-the-art medical and diagnostic equipment for treating respiratory, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular diseases. Six meals a day are based on the use of natural products only. The pine forest and birch grove on the shore of the picturesque Lake Shchibat stimulate the body's healing powers and provide long-lasting energy. This is precisely what the Director of the State Unitary Enterprise DRAC “Zhemchuzhina”, Vera Zakrevskaya, spoke about when welcoming the distinguished guests. She reported that 630 children from various regions of Belarus, who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster, are currently on holiday and undergoing rehabilitation.

The medical buildings of the State Unitary Enterprise DRAC “Zhemchuzhina” are spread over a large area. The guests observed how children undergo various health procedures, visited the swimming pool and treatment rooms.

Close cooperation with the regions of Russia, particularly with the administration of Moscow, within the framework of the “Mother and Child” program was also mentioned.

Every guest at the health resort finds an activity to their liking. There are playrooms, sports grounds, hobby clubs, a library, a gym, a stadium, and a beach with a water park. Discos, recreation evenings, and amateur art concerts are held. Excursions to the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, the Khatyn memorial complex, and other notable places are organized.

The State Unitary Enterprise DRAC “Zhemchuzhina” is predominantly staffed by women, so their moral and material incentives for high-quality work, and social protection were discussed.
