The premiere of Molière's comedy "The Tricks of Scapin" will take place at the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theatre on February 18 and 19, BELTA was informed by the theatre's literary editor, Yury Ivanovsky.
The great comic playwright Jean-Baptiste Molière lived and worked in the 17th century; he is considered the creator of classical comedy. The setting of the staged work is Naples, with temperamental characters – parents and children, the mafia and gypsies, but above all, the ingenious servant and rogue Scapin, who "has fallen out with justice." "An incendiary, temperamental, and very funny story about the tricks of a witty, cunning, and inexhaustible servant who contributes to the happiness of loving hearts. Amusing comedic situations, vivid, unpredictable plot twists define the atmosphere of this comedic and, at the same time, touching performance," noted Yury Ivanovsky.
"One should not give up, even if life circumstances are against you; one must act actively, and it is wonderful if you can find someone for support," said the play's director, Irina Tishkevich, characterizing its main idea. She is convinced that comedy should definitely be staged, even in the most serious theatres. "The audience has a need for good, charming humour," the director noted.-0-
