Vitebsk residents will see premieres of plays about the vicissitudes of life and love on September 14-15 on the stage of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Drama Theatre, Svetlana Dashkevich, head of the theatre's literary department, told a BELTA correspondent. Today, the theatre troupe will present to the audience the play "The Little World" by Alena Popova, directed by Tatyana Sedova. For many years, once a year, four women, Olga (Larisa Antoseva), Liza (Galina Bukatina), Piskunova (Zinaida Gurbо) and Zhanna (Valentina Bogdanova), meet in the latter's apartment to wait for a call from their mutual friend Sonya from America. However, this time, instead of the long-awaited call, Arthur (Evgeny Berestnev, Egor Deyun) appears at the door, who knows everything about the friends. The unexpected acquaintance allows the women's characters to be revealed, and they realise how little they knew about each other. On September 15, the main stage of the theatre will host the melodramatic comedy "I'm Waiting for a Real Man" based on the play by Edward Radzinsky "A Pleasant Woman with a Flower and Windows to the North", with Tamara Kobyak in the leading role. The director of the play is Yuri Lizengevich. In fact, this story consists of three novellas: Aelita's meetings with her ex-husband Apokin (Vladimir Sivitsky), the swindler Skameykin (Valentin Tsvetkov) and his cellmate Fedya (Petr Laman). The play is dedicated to a woman's desire to love and be loved. The plot of the play concludes with a beautiful finale: Aelita finally meets the man of her dreams - the Alien (Andrey Kachan). The Kolas Theatre company will spend the second half of the month on tour: exchange tours with Belarusian theatres await them, Svetlana Dashkevich noted. Thus, on September 20-22, the Minsk Regional Drama Theatre will present its productions on the Vitebsk stage, and on September 28-30, the Gomel City Youth Theatre will do so. The Kolas Theatre company will perform with the premiere productions "Perebor" and "I'm Waiting for a Real Man" in Molodechno and Gomel, respectively, during the same period. -0-
