September 9. Vitebsk /Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. The presentation of the Polotsk district brand will be one of the central events of the district mushroom championship, which will be held for the third time near Polotsk on September 10. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ideological Work Department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee. Near the village of Dretun, which bears the unofficial title of the mushroom capital of the Vitebsk region, almost 100 teams of three people each will gather, representing educational institutions, healthcare, agriculture, and local executive and representative authorities. After preliminary briefing and familiarisation with the competition rules, participants will set off for a "quiet hunt" which will last exactly three hours. Then, mushroom pickers will have their "catch" weighed, and winners will be determined in several categories depending on the professional affiliation of the team members. The organisers have ensured that there are enough commemorative prizes and original gifts for everyone. The championship has become a good occasion for the presentation of the developed Polotsk district brand "Leshy" (Wood Goblin), which will be publicly unveiled for the first time. Also, after the "quiet hunt" concludes, mushroom pickers will become spectators and participants of a diverse concert programme, including a national dish competition and an open meeting of the herbalists' club, during which one can learn about the natural wealth of the Polotsk region. According to preliminary estimates, more than 700 guests and participants are expected at the championship in total.-0-
