The Head of State congratulated everyone on this bright holiday and wished goodness and peace to families, the country, and most importantly, to souls.
The President thanked the Church for the great contribution it makes to strengthening peace and tranquility on Belarusian soil. Expressing the kindest wishes in connection with the holiday, Alexander Lukashenko emphasized: "You can rely on the state, on the authorities. You can always be sure that there will be peace and tranquility in our country. We guarantee this."
The Head of State also noted: "I think we will successfully get through this challenging year, and the key to this is the kindness and desire of our people to live in peace on the land granted to us by the Lord."
"I congratulate all our Belarusians, all our friends, brothers, and neighbors. I wish them peace and goodness, and most importantly, peace to our native southern neighbor. I think we will do everything to ensure peace and tranquility in the souls and hearts of these people who are so close to us," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The Head of State, together with his younger son Nikolai, lit a candle at the icon of the Mother of God of Minsk.
Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, presented Alexander Lukashenko with the icon of the Mother of God "Three-Handed," which is highly revered worldwide and was brought from Mount Athos.
The President presented a souvenir panel as a gift to the Belarusian Orthodox Church. It features a relief image of the Holy Cross Exaltation Cathedral in Polotsk. The panel is made of silver using chasing technique and is mounted on a cardboard base. The Holy Cross Exaltation Cathedral, built in 1893, is part of the complex of the Monastery of Saint Euphrosyne in Polotsk. The relics of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk are kept in this cathedral.
