President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will appoint the current head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Igor Brylo, as an aide to the Vitebsk region. This was announced at a recent teleconference meeting on the harvesting campaign.

The Head of State took a detailed interest in the state of affairs in the Vitebsk region. "We will start active harvesting in about a week and a half. Currently, only 24 combine harvesters are out of order. They will be put into operation by the 24th," reported Governor Alexander Subbotin.

"I am warning you. Technical inspection is proof that the combine harvesters and other equipment are in good working order. Nothing else will be accepted," said Alexander Lukashenko.

Alexander Subbotin informed that 78% of all combine harvesters have passed technical inspection. In half of the cases, the combine harvesters were not allowed to operate due to overdue leasing. "We are now actively making these payments, paying them off, and will also put them into operation. By the 26th, before the start of mass harvesting, all combine harvesters will have passed technical inspection," he explained.

The President emphasized that the Minister of Agriculture himself bears responsibility for this as the person responsible for the Vitebsk region. Information was announced that the current head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food is moving to the post of aide in the Vitebsk region.

"So, with this harvesting campaign, the Minister of Agriculture will be an assistant to the Vitebsk region. And I, Igor, am to report weekly on the situation in the Vitebsk region. It seems they have forgotten that they need to work. And everyone is waiting. They have some hope that someone will come, bring money, and something else," said Alexander Lukashenko. "You know our approaches there. It must be implemented. You are responsible for this along with Subbotin."

The President also instructed to promptly select a candidate for the new minister: "Decide on the Minister of Agriculture, Roman Alexandrovich (Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. - Ed. BELTA). The candidate should be ready next week. We cannot harvest grain when there is no one responsible for it."

Addressing Governor Alexander Subbotin during the meeting, the President said: "I would like you to accept a new assistant. But you will not have a peaceful life. You understand that I am not sending Brylo into exile. But in order to finally get the Vitebsk region on its feet. He knows what to do. But we will talk to him separately about his work. But there will be no peaceful life there. And he will have direct contact with all those with whom he works on equal terms today - ministers, government members. Although you are also not a stranger to this, having worked in the government for a considerable time."

"But keep in mind that neither Isachenko, nor Krupko, nor you (heads of the Mogilev, Gomel, and Vitebsk regions. - BELTA note) have anywhere to retreat. That's it! Nowhere to retreat! The eastern regions must provide progress. They must develop and show normal dynamics," the Belarusian leader summarized.
