Deputy Inessa Kleshchuk inquired about the possibility of using portable devices with the necessary software installed for the next census. Inna Medvedeva, in turn, noted that the 2019 census is planned to be conducted using tablets. She pointed out that working with tablets will significantly simplify the information collection process.
"The President has set the task to maximally utilise administrative data, meaning that the census form, which will be on a computer for each citizen of the Republic of Belarus, will already contain the data available in the population register," explained the Chairperson of Belstat. "Approximately 20% of the information that needs to be requested or verified during the census will already be there."
"Thus, we will require significantly less census personnel than with paper forms," concluded Inna Medvedeva.
