As the cold weather approaches, winter offers a great opportunity for fishermen who are eager to get out on the first ice.

Unfortunately, it is precisely this kind of ice that holds dangers fraught with the most regrettable consequences.

  We remind you that by the Decision of the Lepel District Executive Committee No. 1239 dated November 17, 2023, based on clause 35 of the rules for protecting human life on water, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated August 18, 2023 No. 543, the Lepel District Executive Committee HAS DECIDED:

  to establish a ban on entering the ice cover of surface water bodies in the Lepel district during periods of formation and (or) destruction of ice cover, as well as when the thickness of the crystalline ice cover does not reach 7 centimeters (for one person).

  The ice formation period is a headache for the rescue service. On the water bodies of the Lepel district, OSVOD employees are already installing signs informing about the ban on going out on the ice.
