The application submission stage for Belarusian businesspeople to participate in the national stage of the international EY "Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016" competition (EY Entrepreneur Of The Year ™) has been completed, the company informed BELTA.
"The diversity of industries in which the registered candidates for the competition operate is noteworthy: alongside the traditionally strong bloc of entrepreneurs from the IT sector, this year's competition includes representatives from science-intensive and innovative industrial production, construction, the service sector, culture, and education," EY reported.
The second stage of the competition programme has now begun – interviews with the contenders. During this stage, the competition organiser, EY, holds meetings with entrepreneurs to compile profiles of potential participants and their businesses, and determines the final list of competition participants. The next stage will be a meeting of the participants with the competition jury members, which will take place in early October 2016. Based on the results of this meeting and the analysis of data provided by the participants and EY, the jury members will make their independent decision on the winners in the nominations and the overall competition winner. The decision will be announced on December 1, 2016, at the awards ceremony for the winners of the II International Competition "Entrepreneur Of The Year" in Belarus (EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™).
Pavel Lashchenko, Managing Partner of EY in Belarus, congratulates Belarusian entrepreneurs who have decided to participate in the international EY "Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016" competition in Belarus. "Each of the candidates is a brilliant representative of the business community and a worthy contender for victory. We are pleased to note that alongside new faces, we will also see participants from the first national stage of the international EY "Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014" competition," he said. "I am confident that colleagues from different business areas, with different approaches to organising their enterprises, but united by the spirit of entrepreneurship, will find many new ideas, contacts, and opportunities for direct communication at the competition platforms, and subsequently – beyond them."
EY reminds that according to the rules of the international EY competition "Entrepreneur Of The Year™", the selection of winners is determined by both quantitative indicators (company turnover growth, profit increase, and number of jobs created) and qualitative ones (degree of innovation in business practices, development of original products, creative solutions in marketing and sales, degree of penetration into national and international markets, implementation of personnel development programs).
Winners are selected by a jury of independent experts and prominent business figures. EY does not participate in the voting, does not take part in its work, and does not influence the choice of the winner and nominees.
