An unemployed resident of the village of Gubino, Lepel district, previously noticed by the Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora, namely in 2016, illegally caught fish using prohibited fishing gear (set fishing nets) in Lake Melkoye, Lepel district. By the verdict of the court of Lepel district, he was convicted under Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced to a fine of 52 base units, i.e., 10,920,000 non-denominated rubles.
The aforementioned citizen did not embark on the path of correction; having an unexpunged and unquashed conviction, he, during the period of prohibition on catching all types of fish on May 9, 2020, in Lake Melkoye, Lepel district, illegally caught fish using a prohibited fishing gear (set fishing net), i.e., committed a crime provided for by Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. By the verdict of the court of Lepel district, this citizen was sentenced to 2 months of arrest with the recovery of a fine of 1092 rubles to the state revenue.
