On 21 December 2020, in an open court hearing, the Lepel District Court passed a sentence under Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus against an unemployed resident of Lepel District. The citizen had a previous conviction for illegal fishing and, with an unexpunged and unquashed conviction, had not embarked on the path of correction. On 09.05.2020, he committed illegal fishing again on Lake Melkoye near the village of Gubino, Lepel District.
According to the sentence of the Lepel District Court, the punishment imposed is arrest for a term of 2 months and a fine of 1092 roubles. Compulsory measures of security and treatment for chronic alcoholism shall also be applied to the citizen at the place of serving the sentence.
