A set of additional measures to reduce the negative impact of drunkenness and alcoholism on the operational situation is being carried out in the Lepel district from November 16 to 20, 2021, during the main stage of activities, where the main goal is to involve broad sections of the population in assisting and supporting government bodies in resolving issues of domestic violence, family dysfunction, as well as increasing the effectiveness of work to prevent unlawful behaviour of citizens, taking comprehensive measures of general and individual prevention of offenses, and preventive impact on individuals leading an antisocial lifestyle and registered with law enforcement agencies for preventive purposes.
As part of this event, employees of the internal affairs department of the Lepel District Executive Committee and specialists from the education department, the healthcare institution "Lepel Central District Hospital", the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, the municipal unitary enterprise "Borovka", as well as various organizations and public associations will inform citizens about the legal norms in force in this area, assistance provided to victims of violence, the operation of helplines, and much more.
The internal affairs department of the Lepel District Executive Committee regularly conducts comprehensive measures to prevent domestic violence, as well as to prevent offenses and crimes committed while intoxicated. In order to prevent serious consequences of crimes committed while intoxicated, 18 citizens were sent to the therapeutic and preventive facility (LTP) in the first 10 months of this year, of whom 16 were unemployed and 7 were habitual domestic abusers. For the purpose of preventing drunkenness and alcoholism, 71 medical examinations were organised and conducted with chronic alcoholics, and 47 warnings were issued about possible referral to the LTP.
