On October 26, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Scientists and economists from six countries will take part in the international scientific and practical conference "Socio-economic development of organizations and regions of Belarus: goals, priorities, mechanisms of structural transformations", which will be held on October 27-28 at the Vitebsk State Technological University. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Dean's office of the university's Faculty of Economics.
About 200 specialists from 35 leading research centers and higher education institutions of Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus showed interest in the scientific forum. The conference will feature research and scientific developments by staff members of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, Riga Technical University, the National Defence Academy (Poland), the Research Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, as well as Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Technological University, Belarusian State Economic University, and other universities.
This year's traditional economic conference is dedicated to the consideration of goals, priorities, and mechanisms of structural transformations in the economy, which will help develop effective tools for overcoming the challenging situation in the socio-economic development of Belarus. Representatives of the scientific community plan to discuss strategic issues of scientific, technological, and innovative development, as well as related new regulatory models. Specialists will consider issues of foreign trade activities in the context of global trends, analyze the features and consequences of the global financial and economic crisis for countries, regions, and enterprises, and related issues of modernizing national economies. The reports of the participants of the scientific forum will be devoted to the innovative development of organizations and investment support for innovations, regional economic policy and interregional cooperation, and increasing the competitiveness of enterprises and regions in the new conditions.
A round table will be organized for collegial discussion of economic development issues, exchange of experience in research work and its application in the educational process, as well as for educational and methodological issues of teaching economic disciplines at the university. The conference will facilitate familiarization with positive experience in solving current economic problems, improve the quality of teaching at the university, and allow for the identification of promising topics for joint scientific research by specialists.
