The Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee, Mikhail Kiselevich, delivered a congratulatory address, thanking the clergy and parishioners for their adherence to Christian traditions and values, and for the immense, systematic work that has enabled the Church of St. Casimir to become a true gem of the Lepel region.
One of the most symbolic moments of the celebration was the consecration by Bishop Oleg Butkevich of Vitebsk of a copy of the painting "The Last Supper" by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, and an altar with relics of saints, which were installed the day before.
The Church of St. Casimir is not only a beautiful and majestic building, but also a witness to the centuries-old history of our region. It has survived fires, wars, revolutions, atheism, and oblivion. It was closed, destroyed, abandoned, but it did not die. It has been reborn and lives thanks to the faith, love, and labour of priests and parishioners.
