On September 14, Verkhnedvinsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Direct contacts help to learn about and resolve pressing issues of people. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Valery Vakulchik expressed his conviction in this during a direct telephone line with residents of Verkhnedvinsk district, BELTA correspondent reports. The head of the department noted that for him as a leader, the opinion of each person is very important. This helps to improve the work of the committee and to respond promptly to possible negative trends. During the three-hour telephone line, Valery Vakulchik received not a very large number of phone calls. "Despite this, these appeals show the full spectrum of issues that concern citizens. Some are not related to the problems of the Investigative Committee, but they will also be given attention, others are within the competence of the committee and will be taken under control for an objective and fair solution," he noted. According to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, the crime situation in Verkhnedvinsk district is calm, which explains the small number of calls. For eight months of 2012, 141 crimes were registered in the district, which is 16.1% less than in the same period last year. A decrease in the crime rate is also observed in the criminal investigation department (from 118 in 2011 to 103 in the current year, or 12.7% less). The number of registered serious and particularly serious crimes has decreased from 13 to 8, with perpetrators identified in all cases. In the current year, crimes such as murder, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, robbery, rape, hooliganism, and extortion have not been registered in the district. -0-
