The deputy did not rule out that the draft code might be submitted to parliament in the winter. "But the fact is that it will not be seen by the House of Representatives in this calendar year," he said.
The Ministry of Education is doing everything possible to present the code to parliamentarians as soon as possible. The deputies themselves are also interested in this, emphasized Igor Marzalyuk. He added that parliamentary hearings on the document had already been cancelled twice. The last ones were scheduled for September. However, the Council of Ministers' Office sent the document for revision. Igor Marzalyuk managed to familiarise himself with the September version. According to the deputy, it favourably differed in a number of aspects from the document that the Ministry of Education submitted for public discussion two years ago.
Parliamentarians have already managed to work through the problematic aspects of the draft code with interested parties, including creative and military higher education institutions. This will allow for prompt consideration of the document once it is submitted to the House of Representatives. "Within the first six months, deputies will adopt it in the first reading, and possibly in the second, as the entire education system is eagerly awaiting the code," concluded Igor Marzalyuk.
