"In terms of healthcare digitalization in the regions, Grodno Region can be highlighted, where a teleconsultation project is being implemented. Vitebsk Region and Gomel Region, based on statistics, are also successfully implementing information technologies. In general, Minsk Region and Grodno Region, as well as Minsk, are included as pilot regions for the country's digitalization project. We will start the project implementation next year," said Viktor Sidorenko.
The pilot project implies that a number of healthcare institutions in the region will be informatized: starting from laying new engineering networks with broadband internet access, creating secure communication channels, to purchasing computers and equipment, and ensuring staff training in working with such systems.
It is planned that the main part of the work on the project will be completed by 2022. "But this does not mean that the process will stop afterwards. IT technologies are constantly evolving. Therefore, the creation of new services, the expansion of the range of services - all this will continue. And the project will lay the foundation," noted Viktor Sidorenko.
He added that in this work, Belarus is guided by the experience of Kazakhstan and Russia.
