July 12, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. A draft decree of the Head of State, providing for changes in the composition of the state housing stock, has been prepared and submitted to the government for consideration in Belarus. This was announced by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus, Andrei Shoretz, in an interview with "Narodnaya Gazeta", according to a BELTA correspondent.
According to the draft of this document, all service housing, which amounts to about 79 thousand apartments, will be included in the fund of housing for commercial use. "At the same time, in order to retain staff at enterprises and organizations, citizens who are in employment relations with the organizations that manage such housing will have a preferential right to obtain housing for commercial use," the minister noted. The fee for using such housing will be calculated taking into account reducing coefficients. These coefficients will be established by the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee after the issuance of this draft, Andrei Shoretz explained.
The minister reported that, in addition to service housing, it is envisaged to include in commercial lease also housing from the state housing stock that has not been privatized by citizens to date. "It is expected that the corresponding draft decree, which has already been prepared, will complete the stage of privatization of housing from the state housing stock," he emphasized.
Andrei Shoretz recalled that when privatizing such apartments, citizens will be able to use the personal privatization vouchers "Housing". Currently, about 188 thousand people own special (voucher) accounts, which is 3.5% of the total number of citizens who were initially allocated a housing quota.
"The draft of this document, after its issuance, will come into force in four months, and within one year after its entry into force, citizens will have time to apply for the privatization of housing. Thus, sufficient deadlines are established to eliminate the reasons and resolve problematic situations that prevent citizens from making a coordinated decision on housing privatization," believes the head of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services. -0-
