February 10, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The preventive campaign "Byt" (Household) is underway in the Vitebsk region, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The complex of special measures is aimed at identifying and placing on preventive record individuals leading an anti-social lifestyle and violating current legislation, and exerting preventive influence at their place of residence on individuals who are on preventive records. Law enforcement officers also pay special attention to identifying people suffering from chronic alcoholism, and working with places where minors prone to anti-social behaviour tend to congregate. "There is no doubt about its effectiveness and necessity," the Internal Affairs Directorate emphasized, noting that in the Pervomaisky district of Vitebsk alone, since the campaign began, police officers have sent 5 people to LTP (Correctional Labour Facility) for compulsory treatment for alcoholism, have spoken at 13 organizations and enterprises, and have visited the homes of 1076 individuals on preventive records to study their living conditions and arrangements. The overall results of the campaign will be summarized in mid-February. -0-
