As part of the "Don't Burn Your Life Out!" campaign, and with the aim of preventing emergencies in residential buildings, averting fires and loss of life due to careless smoking, educating citizens on basic safety rules, and inspecting housing for conditions conducive to fires, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with prevention entities, conducted targeted preventive work in the Lepel District.
As part of the "Don't Burn Your Life Out!" campaign, and with the aim of preventing emergencies in residential buildings, averting fires and loss of life due to careless smoking, educating citizens on basic safety rules, and inspecting housing for conditions conducive to fires, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations, together with prevention entities, conducted targeted preventive work in the Lepel District.
The rescuers paid close attention to population categories that, for various reasons, require specific attention: lonely and single elderly people, as well as citizens leading an antisocial lifestyle, including those prone to alcohol abuse.
During the comprehensive inspection of households, particular attention was paid to the condition of stove heating, gas and electrical equipment, and the presence and operability of autonomous smoke detectors in living rooms.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also reminded the residents of Lepel District about the potential consequences of combining "cigarettes and alcohol," explained how to prevent fire hazardous situations while smoking, emphasizing that the district has already seen 2 fatalities due to the neglect of basic safety rules when smoking.
Each homeowner was given preventive leaflets and recommendations by the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees on how to rectify identified violations.
