From February 24 to March 03, a preventive campaign "Thin Ice" is being held in the Lepel district, aimed at preventing the loss of life on water bodies during the winter period.

As part of this campaign, rescuers, together with representatives of the OSOVOD (Belarusian Republican Life Saving Society) and law enforcement officers, will conduct raids on local water bodies. The purpose of these events is to remind citizens about ice safety rules.

Rescuers urge all residents of the district to be attentive and cautious when near water bodies in the winter period. It should be remembered that venturing onto the ice is only possible when its thickness reaches at least 7 centimeters for one person and 10-12 centimeters for a group of people. Fishermen are advised to go on the ice wearing life jackets. Children are prohibited from going onto the ice without adult supervision. To avoid tragic consequences, parents and persons responsible for raising children must conduct explanatory talks about observing safe behaviour rules on and near water bodies.

The "Thin Ice" campaign is aimed at preserving the life and health of citizens. Take care of yourself and your loved ones by observing safety rules!
